Luna Obscura v2

Sooo. Back into the dark moon, we are. (link to the first one: [link] )

I had began working on a revised version of LO in May 20th, 2012, after receiving some comments on the first one (and, wow, I just noticed I had it placed in the wrong dA category all along!). I'm still very proud of that piece, as it is, in many ways, my first complete digital painting, with no amount of post-processing or extra layers. It was all put together in one layer with my tablet. It is far from perfect, as I didn't use any guides to help with perspective or lighting, but it is, along with "Greed", one of the few pieces of mine that made me feel ready to train myself and become an advanced artist.

However, revisiting it proved to be a difficult thing. My skills are still very limited, so how can I top that? I decided to put the finishing touches now, because I have put off training my digital skills for a long time, and there's no other way to move on than to finish what I had started, even if it's not entirely satisfying, and just get to doing other stuff. V2 is still a flawed piece, but, until I become better at drawing, it's time to put this piece to rest for now. Perhaps I'll redraw it all over again in the future.
